Editorial Policy

Our goal is simple: give drivers accurate, practical, and honest car advice they can trust. This page explains how we create and maintain our content.

How we research

Our guides are based on reliable sources such as vehicle owner’s manuals, manufacturer service information, respected independent testing organizations, and widely accepted repair practices. For product guides, we review independent test results, specifications, and long-term owner feedback.

How we write

  • Plain language: we explain things so a beginner can follow, without dumbing them down.
  • Safety first: we include safety warnings and clearly say when a job should be left to a professional.
  • Honest scope: we explain the most likely causes and simple checks, and we do not pretend an article can replace a hands-on diagnosis.
  • No made-up claims: we avoid exact prices and specs that change often, and we tell you to confirm details for your own vehicle.

Product recommendations

We state clearly in each buying guide whether we have personally tested the products or are summarizing independent reviews. Affiliate commissions never influence which products we include or how we describe them. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Updates and corrections

We review and update articles when information changes, new products arrive, or readers point out issues. If you find an error, please contact us with the page link. We correct confirmed mistakes promptly.
